Encampis one of theparishesofAndorra, located on theValira d'Orientriver. It is also the name of the main town in the parish. Other settlements includeVila,El Pas de la Casa,Grau Roig,el Tremat,la MosqueraandLes Bons. It is set in a wide valley, hugging the main road and river.It is primarily residential, used as a base by visiting skiers and little more, although a modern cable car provides a direct link to the slopes on the outskirts of town. Buildings are predominantly grey stone, with the town hall (a hi-tech glass tower in the centre) looking markedly out of place.
