Mamoudzouis thecapitalof the Frenchoverseas regionanddepartmentofMayotte, in theIndian Ocean. Mamoudzou is the most populatedcommune(municipality) of Mayotte. It is located on Grande-Terre (or Mahoré), the main island of Mayotte. Most of Mayotte’s shops, restaurants and businesses are concentrated in Mamoudzou, and the neighbouring industrial zone of Kaweni.
