Oudtshoorn is a town in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa’s Western Cape. It’s known for its ostrich farms and rests along the Route 62 wine route.Oudtshoorn, the "ostrich capital of the world",is a town in theWestern Capeprovince ofSouth Africa. Oudtshoorn is home to the world's largestostrichpopulation,with a number of specialized ostrichbreedingfarms, such as theSafari Show Farmand theHighgate Ostrich Show Farm. Bongelethu is atownship10km east of Oudtshoorn. Derived fromXhosa, its name means "our pride".
